Basement Systems Vancouver Helping to Feed the Hungry
With the holidays upon us it is important to be thankful for what we have and try to help those who are in need. To help feed the hungry in the local community, Basement Systems Vancouver is now collecting donations for the Surrey Food Bank. They will be collecting both monetary and food donations at their office located at #12 8207 Swenson Way in Delta until December 16.
The Surrey Food Bank is especially in need of whole wheat pasta, rice, canned meals, fish, peanut butter, pasta sauces, canned vegetables and fruit.
The food bank works with financially struggling families, who must register to join the food bank, by providing 3 to 4 days worth of food in a 14-day period. Rather than just being a free handout, the Surrey Food Bank temporarily gives families some support allowing them to free up money in their weekly budgets for other living expenses such as clothing, transportation and school costs.
