1. Iowa, the heartland is flat and fertile for crops but the flat area makes it easy for heavy rainfall to cause local flooding issues.
2. When flooding hits your area, your basement is most likely to be the prime target for water damage.
3. As an entire floor of extra space in your home, your basement is likely the largest single space in your home. If you allow this entire floor of space to be wet, moldy, humid, smelly, and unhealthy, you surrender this space as unusable. Additionally, a home with water in basement is nearly impossible to sell, and the basement air - filled with odors, dust mite feces, humidity, and mold spores - will rise into the rest of the house, ruining the healthy environment of the home.
If you need to waterproof the basement in your Iowa home and are looking for a dry basement solution, you've come to the right place! Basement Systems' certified dealers are ready to assess the problems you're facing and find the right solutions for you.

Comment: We noticed a musty odor 2 days ago in our finished basement. Today discovered wet carpet in one small area, with water on the concrete behind a finished wall, extending to the foundation (we think). Had servpro come assess and it appears localized to just this one area. There are no appliance, or other known water leaks. We do not have a sump in our home.

Comment: Some water seepage at times through the north wall of basement in one area of wall. Sump pump in northeast corner of basement however, cement floor not level as water doesn't completely drain into it. Future plan is to finish this room of basement off but want to take care of water issue first. Walls of basement are tile block, not cement.

Comment: Our basement flooded this last August 2016 following lots and lots of rain. Our basement is "semi-finished" living space - family room, workout room/office, bathroom, and utility/laundry room. Our floors were mostly carpet glued to cement flooring. Our walls are primarily painted cinder block with a few finished walls (dry wall). When our basement flooded, we first had sewage backup (mostly clean water, thank goodness). Once this was resolved, our basement continued to leak from cracks in the floor, at floor/wall interfaces, and from the cinder block walls through several cracks. Prior to the flood, there was a corner that would have frequent puddles after hard rains. After the flood, we noticed this corner puddled more frequently, but we also noticed a few other spots on the floor would also puddle. We are interested in a quote for various options to "waterproof" and prevent further water issues to renew and refinish our basement living spaces.
