Badger Basement Systems Donates to Jefferson County WI Habitat for Humanity

Fort Atkinson, WI – Badger Basement Systems, Inc. has recently donated basement replacement windows, casement egress windows, egress window wells with covers, sump pump liners, and sump pump discharge hoses to a local charity.

The cause? The Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The ReStore is located at 1525 Summit Drive, Unit 2, Fort Atkinson, WI. (Next to St. Vincent DePaul)

Habitat ReStores are retail outlets where quality used and surplus building materials are sold at a fraction of normal prices.  Proceeds from ReStores are used to help local affiliates fund the construction of Habitat homes within the community.  Jefferson County Wisconsin Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to provide safe, decent, affordable, and energy efficient housing to hard-working, low income families in our community.

The Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity ReStore celebrated its grand opening on March 6, 2010 and the volunteers couldn’t be more excited! They are now open to accept donations and sales every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Badger Basement Systems is proud to pitch in to help the Jefferson County Community!

Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas Receives Bid to CleanSpace Arkansas Health Services Building

Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas has recently received the bid to install CleanSpace in one of the Arkansas Health Services Buildings in Benton, Arkansas. This building is scheduled for environmental renovation, including asbestos removal and the installation of CleanSpace in the massive crawl space.

CleanSpace and SmartSumps were specifically required for this renovation by the architect and are only available through a CleanSpace Dealer from the Basement Systems Network. Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas is such a dealer and was specifically chosen by Controlled Environmental Solutions Inc. for their expertise and experience in Closed Crawl Space Systems, or Crawl Space Encapsulation Systems, as they are sometimes called.

Although this job is a large industrial project, this same system is installed in many homes in Arkansas with moisture problems. The system consists of four basic elements, including a commercial grade vapor retarder with a 25 year warranty, a leading edge sump pump system with patented safety features, an energy star rated dehumidification system, and several components to completely seal the crawl space from the outside air, including crawl space doors, vent covers, and other air sealing features.

With the recent changes being made to Kent County Schools, and the pending consolidation, the children of staff members Carrie & Jay Douthit are directly affected.  Their daughter and son are both in middle school, and the consolidation is directly affecting middle schoolers.  Carrie has been asked to serve as a parent representative on the Middle School Consolidation Scheduling Committee.  This committee will be working to consolidate the three middle schools into one middle school, and determining the best daily schedule to incorporate the required state courses.  Carrie will be updating this site as informtation about the committee’s work becomes available.
