RCS fixing school odor problem

The Ravena Coeymans Selkirk School District is shelling out more than $100,000 to permanently get rid of a foul odor that filled the high school last fall. The stench came from the basement and was caused by excessive moisture and high yeast levels. The board of education has approved an emergency contract authorizing Adirondack Basement Systems to seal the basement. The floor and walls will be matted to keep water out, and air units and dehumidifiers will be used to keep fresh air flowing.
