Remove the Phantom and Save Energy TodayPublished by: Samantha Walton (1/29/2011) |
As the snow distracts us from our daily routines and the kids are at home all afternoon, it may be a great month to keep an eye on the phantoms. While you may have thought that the gaming system were shut off, that just might not be the case.So what’s a phantom electronic anyway? Well, it’s an appliance like a DVD player or microwave that has been shut off or isn’t being used, yet it still displays the time, a light, makes a sound, or generates heat. This means that it’s actually still receiving electricity. So all the while you think the gaming system is off and outta use, its red light is still using energy. One of the Basement System’s very own Treehouse employees, Karen Garrett, did just that—she kept an eye on her WII, her coffee maker and her lights. She was amazed at the difference! “The tips from Dr. Energy helped me to save a noticeable amount on my energy bills. I haven’t even used all of their suggestions yet…this was just the first month!” says Karen. Pretty cool! Basement Systems can definitely see the benefit in this highlight of the day. So be sure to contact Dr. Energy Saver today! Dealers are all across the country. This Highlight of the Day was brought to us by Dr. Energy Saver Salt Lake City, your source for energy saving tips in Salt Lake City and other ways to save energy in Utah.
