Glossary Term: WaterWatch Alarm

The WaterWatch alarm is a sump pump alarm that sounds off like a smoke detector in the event that water rises above the point where the sump pump should turn on. This gives you warning to address the pump-failure problem before any water damage occurs in your basement.  Sump pump alarms can be hooked up to home alarm systems and can even be wired with some systems so that the homeowner is notified by phone if they're not home and their waterproofing system has failed, allowing for immediate response time in the case of sump pump failure. Homeowners can sometimes go days or even weeks without entering their basement.  If there is no sump pump alarm installed, then you won't know of a failure until the basement is actually flooding.  Basement Systems avoids this worst-case scenario by installing sump pump alarms as standard items on every one of our sump pumps.
