The extreme weather in Colorado poses a lot of challenges for the homeowners in the area with vented crawl space under their house. Although the building code in many states requires the crawl space be vented based on outmoded assumptions, performance testing has shown that many vented crawl spaces have problems with heat loss, moisture and radon.
The good news is that the increased awareness of the problems with vented crawl spaces has led to solutions that can make your crawl space perform much better than traditional unvented dirt crawl spaces.
Basement Systems, the world leader in dry basement and crawl space technology, developed the CleanSpace System, an ultimate solution to vented dirt crawl spaces. The CleanSpace system with the crawp space vapor barrier completely isolates your home from the earth, dramatically reducing the humidity level in the air and in some cases, eliminating mold growth, rot, and critters from your crawl space, making the entire house healthier and less expensive to heat and cool.
Whether you live in Colorado Springs, Denver, Pueblo, Boulder, Fort Collins or Grand Junction, Basement Systems has patented, state-of-the-art crawl space products that are tailored to keep your crawl space dry, clean and energy efficient ALL the time!

Comment: I have a vented crawl space beneath a manufactured home. It is vented with a plastic vapor barrier over dirt and batted fiberglass insulation above. It seems damp and appears to have bugs and potentially mice accessing it. I'm curious what the cost is to encapsulate it. Thanks

Comment: Pests and critters, musty, dirty. When the wind blows, I can smell the crawl space in my master bathroom. Gross. This is a manufactured home set on a permanent foundation. I'm claustrophobic, so I can't really get a good, clear-headed look at everything without panic setting in. We need an evaluation and estimate so that we can start planning what gets done in what order around here.

Comment: Have an original window is approximately 14-17" high and about 36" wide that leads into the crawl space, and I'm wanting to update the opening. This would be a device which one can access from the outside. Do not want the entry hole to become smaller. May also be interested in a window well cover for the crawl space. Would prefer the cover be made of material that one cannot see into, strong enough to hold a human's weight and not a grate. The dimensions of the concrete well are about 30" from house to edge and 44" wide.
