Nova Basement Systems

I am very satisfied with the installation of CleanSpace and the closing of the vents. I went into the area when it was 10 degrees outside and found it comfortable. And I only had a sweatshirt on.

A few thoughts during the installation process:

1. When the workers showed up the first day, I asked who the contact person would be. Nathan told me that he was that person. I would have been a little more at ease if a senior manager would have let me know that-perhaps giving assurance that Nathan was highly qualified to do the job, despite his young age. This is no reflection on Nathan who seemed to be capable and professional.

2. The booklet "CrawlSpace Science" points out that the 20-mil product is used on the walls. I questioned Nathan about the much lighter wall covering that was used. It might have been a good idea, if you don't use the 20-mil product on the walls, if you would make that clear to the customer. Perhaps Phil did tell me that at the time of our estimate, but I don't recall.

3. Phil and I gave some attention to the existing insulation on the walls, but didn't talk about the existing 6-mil product on the floor. I thought it was to be removed but Nathan said it will act as another desirable layer. That makes sense and certainly helps to keep the CleanSpace cleaner during the installation.

Despite what you might think by now, I am well-satisfied with the finished job and would add that the booklet sent to me was an effective marketing tool. I read it twice and consider it as informative as the salesman. I've shared it with my neighbor. The area where we live, is a target-rich area for your service since there are no basements due to the high water table. I don't think there is any slab construction here. There are three different associations: carriage houses, town houses, and condos.

Just this morning, my wife and I listened to a home improvement program and the subject of dirt crawl spaces came up. The "expert" didn't give good advice since he didn't mention closing the vents, installing CleanSpace and have a suitable dehumidifier. He focused on wall insulation with just a mention of covering the dirt. I thought I could have given the lady better advice, thanks to Nova Basement Systems.
