As an independently owned and operated business, WeatherSeal Insulation Company, LLC has been serving the insulation needs of Central Virginia since 1989. Currently operating from three locations in Richmond, Charlottesville and Orange in central Virginia, owners Gene and Gina Sullenberger, along with Tom Terry, have been working in the industry for over 30 years. As a full-service insulation contractor, they offer a complete line of formaldehyde-free fiberglass in spray and blanket forms as well as eco-friendly sprayed cellulose wall systems. Sealing the crawl space from the earth and outside air is the solution to moisture and dampness in the home. Some crawl space contractors and homeowners will simply put down a thin, non-UV-resistant plastic liner, like a 6-mil plastic liner. This really has no effect as there's still too much opportunity for air to enter from (air is very small and can come through crawl space doors or hatches, crawl space vents, pipe penetrations, porous concrete walls, the hollow cores of blocks, and various other gaps and holes.
