Crawl Space Vapor Barrier
In addition to encapsulating your crawlspace with CleanSpace, it’s important to seal off the foundation vents and other outside air leaks. Our vents are made out of durable plastic and are available in subtle gray, red, and black colors that will blend in your home. They will never rust, rot or corrode and attach permanently with drilled-in anchors that will never come off by themselves. They install with foam insulation and gasket material on the inside that completely seals off outside air!
Once your crawl space is completely sealed off, humidity from the earth and outside air cannot enter. In many cases, after a CleanSpace System was installed, the relative humidity levels of the crawlspace dropped from 80% to 35%! An antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh effectively treats and deters the growth of mold and mildew on the liner. CleanSpace also works as a passive barrier from radon gas seeping in from the earth. Termites as well as mice, insects and vermin are discouraged by tough CleanSpace liner and by the DRY space! There is no 'plastic smell' associated with the installation of CleanSpace.
