Ice Guard

We had your system installed a little over a year ago. We have not had any problems until now. We recently had very heavy snow fall and our Ice Guard was pulled from the house and became buried under much ice before we were aware of the problem. We were able to free the Ice Guard from the ice and it is in perfect condition. My husband had to reattach it to the drainage pipe coming out of the house with a straight fitting since we could not find the small elbow that it was originally attached with. The Ice Guard is now running parallel to the ground instead of coming out of the drainage pipe at an angle. Will the guard still work properly if the exterior pipes freeze, as they did last winter? Thanks!

It could still work to some degree but I would recommend you call the installing dealer and have them reistall it the proper way. I wouldn't want to see you get a flooded basement for such a minor repair.
