Ok, I admit. I was skeptical at first. Everytime it rained I would get anywhere from 50 to 300 gallons of water in my basement. 80% humididty at all times. My dehumidifier was working 24/7. I spoke with a few differant contractors but BS was the only company that showed up for thier scheduled appointment. As a matter of fact, a few of the other contractors I contacted never returned my phone calls.
On Jan 10, 2005 Basement Systems showed up at my door at 10:45am, the jackhammers were going 5 minutes later. I was under the impression that it would take pretty much all day for them to finish.
By 3:15pm they were done! Wow, what a job they did. 2 days later we had about a 2 or 3 inch rainfall and not 1 drop of water was to be found anywhere in my basement. Bloody well done BS.
At first I wasn't sure the sump pump was working because I never hear it come on. But as the temp fell I could see all the water freezing where it drains away from the house.
I guess the real test will be this spring when the ground completely thaws out.
Word of caution though, If you decide to get any work of this kind performed in your basement, make sure you remove or cover anything you don't want to get dirty. After all, there is considerable dust from all the jack hammering. They do clean up nicely when they are done but you will need to follow up with your own final cleaning but dust is easier than water to clean up after.
YMMV but I highly recommend Basement Systems over any local contractor you may have recieved quotes from. BS is not the cheapest but the work they do is amazing.
BTW, my dehumidifier is showing 45% humidity. Big differance.
