Have a quick question -- when we bought our house, our home inspector pointed out that one of the poured walls must of cracked during early stages. As there is some sort of a "band-aide" on the outside of the house that looks like its an addational coloumn of cement (kind of hard to put into words). He didn't say it was a bad thing to do but most likly the building inspecter made it happen?
almost 6 years later (after we bought the home) during heavy rains and long rains the room where the "crack" was leaks. We graded the outside and it helps. But we do love our home (nothing fancy just a raised range that is about 25 years old) but we like it :-) And we have a finished basement that is next to the the furnace room which is the room that has the leak.
My question is can that "crack" be fixed with out much ado. the furnace room is not finished and you can see a slight crack where the water seeps into and collects on the floor, pending how long it rains it will start to move to the bath room which inbetween the finished room that we use and the furnace room (note bathroom is fished as well). No signs of mold (I'm alergic and can't smell none)
Please let me know what can be done....
Thanks in advance,
John
