Our house is 3 years old (purchased about a year ago) and, in the last couple of months, we have noticed spider-web like cracks all over the basement floor. These are mainly hairline cracks, but some seem to be expanding. When we bought the house, there were a couple of larger cracks running across the floor, approx 1/8" wide (may have expanded slightly since we bought the house), which we were led to believe had been there for some time and were (likely) due to drying of the concrete. We do not have any water coming in through these cracks and have never noticed any water coming up through the floor. However, the ever increasing number of the hairline cracks has us quite concerned...

The one thing about concrete is that it will crack, almost all basement floors have some cracks. There not leaking now and they may never leak. There isnt much you can do now to change what has happened or what will happen with the floor. The original concrete mix, soil and curing situation are already in place. However if you do get water or are concerned about the structural integrity you can call us at 1-800-541-0487 and we can have a dealer in your area contact you for a free inspection.
