Transferable lifetime warranty

We just bought a house in Edison NJ for a little more than a month now. During that heavy rain storm a couple of weeks ago, we found our finished basement leaking water. We called in Ken, a inspector/project coordinator from JES Basement Systems, a division of JES Construction Inc. They base in Allentown PA, and I guess they are expanding to New Jersey. He introduced us to the WaterGuard system and Super/Ultra sump pumps. Things sounded really good, especially when he told us about the transferable lifetime warranty on the WaterGuard system. He claimed that even when JES Constructions went out of business, Basement Systems, Inc. would pick it right up. Is this for real? Do you cover for the dealers in your network? When the installation dealer goes out of business, can other local dealers in the network take on the warranty responsibility?

Basement Systems offers its dealers the opportunity to join our extended service agreement program. This agreement provides for Basement Systems to cover the warranty of the participating dealer only if they go out of business. JES Construction is in this program. Because Basement Systems dealers are independently owned and operated they may also be performing other services. Basement Systems will only cover those products and systems manufactured by Basement Systems.
