I just received a quote on the clean space system and a SaniDry dehumidifier. I was told that we can add a duct that would run to the finished part of the basement, effectively reducing the humidity level in the basement and taking the place of the dehumidifier I am currently running. I can smell a damp odor this time of the year. Does the SaniDry take the moist air from the basement and send the dry air into the crawl space or does it take the air from the crawl space and push dry air into the room? I would prefer it to take the humid air from the room.

Also, with the SaniDry system how much could I expect to lower the humidity levels in my house? I live in Northern Virginia and we never open the windows during the summer, the air conditioning runs constantly. When I check the humidity levels in the house they are typically around 50%.

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. The SaniDry will effectively dry a crawl space/basement area, and although there is no real smell measurement tool to gague smells, it can also reduce odors. We have carbon activated filters that can help control some odors. A duct kit is available on our vertical modeld, and yes, you can pull air from multiple locations and pump the dry air to the area(s) that need it. There is an external dehumidistat on the SaniDry unit and you can control how dry your space gets.
I have one in my house, and my children like to play in the basement now. Before SaniDry, they would not venture into the basement in the summertime.
You will be pleased by the performance of this machine.
Thanks again.
