I had my basement waterproofed by the local dealer "Regional Waterproofing" about 8 months ago; they installed a Super Pump and the wall covering and canal.
My problem is that for about 3 weeks now there is frequently water coming from the outgoing line which is watering the driveway almost constantly.
After some preliminary troubleshooting, I accessed the small opening in the top of the sump pump container which is sunk in the basement floor (and into the ground below that) and found that water is not coming in from the wall and canal system. I also noticed that there is another entry point into the holding container which is an approx 4" diameter black corrugated plastic tubing, like might be used for landscaping (??)
The black pipe seems to go through the basement wall into the yard. It also has some sediment in the corrugations; sand, it looks like. Why is this black pipe there?
Also, toward the bottom of the holding container, there are small holes (approx 1/4" in diameter), around the side of the container that essentially allow anything in the ground below the basement slab to enter the container.
I have some sand and small pebbles in the bottom of the container; and some small grass/plant roots.
I suspect that the water that is exiting the system is coming from water under the slab that is entering the small holes and or water entering the large black pipe, which looks to be coming from deep in the front yard.
If my intention is to water proof the basement, why do I have these two newly created entry points in the system ????
