Our home is a lower level walk out built in 1988. The home was built on a high water table and therefore we have a sump pump with drain tile inside and outside the home. The family room, kitchen, fireplace, bathroom and laundry area are located at this lower level also. Heating consists of transite heating. Our problem is that when it rains heavily, water does has a tendency to enter the transite heating vent. What can be done?
Thanks for your question. If you are talking about heating ducts in the floor then I would reccomend talking to a heating contractor. In the past we have recommended that people seal the vents in the slab so no moisture can enter the home and convert to another type of heating system. It would be very hard to make the existing vents ait tight or keep moisture and water out.
Thanks
