I hired basement systems to do some waterproofing. After the basement system was installed the floor began to get wet where the old concrete met the new concrete. Someone was sent to my house to waterproof the floors in the damp areas. This only moved the wetness further away from the wall, along with effervescence buildup.

They sent someone back out to break up the floor again and start over. This time the wet floors were moved to another part of the basement floor. In addition some effervescence may have formed where the concrete was poured for the second time.

Also some of the new cement is starting to crack.

I am desperate now since I have a contractor coming over on 12/27 to finish my basement. I am also frustrated with the job that has been done.

I also have this same problem (water seepage between the new and old concrete). Although the rains were exceptionally heavy yesterday, I was however "promised" never to see water in the basement again with this system yet ... I have pics to prove. Why am I not allowed atttachments on this board?

Anyway, will call my dealer today but I hope they don't open it up and reseal again. The cleanup is just too much.

They came back for the fourth time and replaced some of the cement at the end of the system where it started leaking ( this was an area where I never had a problem before ). They took a piece of plastic and folded it 3 to 4 times and put it at the bottom of the ground/footer, then poured the new concrete over the plastic. By the next morning the new concrete cracked in two places. I also think the concrete settled which probably caused the cracking since the new cement compressed down the plastic since the base was not very stable.

The plastic should have been applied as a single layer.
