I had clean safe installed in a dirt crawl space.
They ran the clean safe up to about 3 Inches below the sill and used plugs to attach it. I would like to put up foam insulation board as I'm in a cold area. Can I use Liquid nails or some other type of adhesive to glue the foam board to the walls of the foundation without hurting the clean safe?

Hello,
You can insulate over CleanSpace. Liquid nails will not work, you may want to try a textured caulk.

can you give me some names? I'm not sure what "textured" caulking is?
thanks

My building inspector is questioning insulating over the thermal dry wall system. He feels that this will trap vapor and thus cause mold. However, I told him that the thermal dry has insulating properties. He said he didn't think it would be enough and that I wouldn't be able to heat my basement without an appropriate R-value insulation.
Questions
1. can you insulate over thermal dry? Then put a vapor barrier outside your studs?
2. is there any documentation that shows what the R-value is of thermal dry?
Thanks
