What kind of floor covering can be installed on the basement floor matting that was installed? Can walls be installed, i.e. studs nailed into the ground, over the matting??

For the Thermal Dry Floor Matting we only recommend capeting. We do not recommend a sheet flooring such as linoleum or self adhesive vinyl tiles. Ceramic tile can not be used as well because of the expansion and contraction of the floor and ceramic tiles need to be adhered to a stable surface.
You may install the walls on top of the Thermal Dry Floor Matting. The walls can be screwed or nailed into the Thermal Dry Floor Matting but the installer should be careful along the perimeter walls if there is a subfloor drainage system.

Why not try laminate flooring? It is easy to install and strong damp resistant.

John712,
On ThermalDry Basement Floor Matting (http://www.basementsystems.com/basement_waterproofing/basement_floor/) we do only recommend carpet.
Thanks,
Richard
