View Full Version : Loosening of tape sealing CleanSpace panels to each other

Basement Systems' CleanSpace encapsulation system has a competitor (see crawlspaces.com) that promotes an alternative encapsulation system in which sheets of a plastic ("visquene") vapor barrier are placed over the crawlspace, and then are covered with cement. This competitor told me that a problem with the Basement Systems' CleanSpace system is that the tape sealing together the 20-mil plastic sheets eventually loosens due to moisture from below and heat from above, and possibly also from pressure from above if people are crawling on it or storing objects on it. The layer of concrete could protect the tape from coming loose like this. Is there any validity to these claims?

Hi,
Our system will reduce humidity and moisture in a crawl space. Once the proper air sealing has been done, the tape , fasteners etc will work as intended. We also back our work with a twenty five year warranty, you will not get that from a supplier-web site.
Thank you.

Hi,
That is not a competitor, it is a web-site, they do not install products for you. You can get plastic at home depot, it will not be the same. We have a customized solution for each home depending on a variety of issues.
Thanks.
