Our basement is flooding at the back of the house and we have a 12 foot slab of concrete patio at the back preventing digging down, is there a way of drilliing into the foundation blocks and pouring some kind of liquidy cement or something that will find its way through the blocks and fill them up? We also have a deck on top of the slab so we want to avoid taking the deck apart and breaking the slab out, any suggestions appreciated. JEFF

Drilling into the block foundation and filling the hollow cores with some kind of material sounds like it would be a good idea but unfortunately that is not the solution to your problem. There are poured foundations with the same type of problem with seepage and the way to address this is to install a basement waterproofing drainage system inside the basement. There are two ways to address this, the first is what you mentioned, digging up the outside and removing the patio and deck, a costly proposition. The other is a less intrusive method and that's the interior basement waterproofing drainage system. Call your local Basement Systems dealer for a more in depth in home explanation.
