I have an old house (built in 1952). Until recently, all my basement windows leaked. I have replaced all of them EXCEPT one. The one I haven't replaced is behind the furnace. It's also inaccessible from the outside due to a screened in patio. That's one problem.

The other BIG problem is that I have water coming into the basement from behind my electric panel. I don't know if I need a basement guy or a electrician or both. I've looked to see where the water could be coming from but can't find it.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks,
Jennifer

The problem with the electrical panel can really be a BIG problem if it's leaking inside the box itself. If that is the case the electrical panel would have to be removed and the conduit that the wires come through would need to be sealed. If the leak is coming in around the conduit a simple injection method or another suitable method of repair is the answer. Which ever the leak the electrical panel should be taken off to get a closer look.
As far as the window it sounds like even if you could replace it the view is not very attractive if it's under a porch. You might consider covering over.
