I have just bought my first home. While the crawl space doesn't have any standing water in it it is damp. I have read many threads relating to this but the fixes are all way out of my price range.

If you didn't have the funds to install a vapor barrier by a pro compnay what would you recommend I do? I am versed in many aspects of home improvements so doing the work myself is my best option.

Thanks for any advice

Hi,
Fixing a crawl space moisture problem is not a do it yourself job. Building a patio, painting a room, yes. If you own your own home, I would suggest getting together with a Basement Systems Dealer, and having it done right the first time. They will have payment options, and years of expertise in fixing moisture problems. You will have a job done right, no headaches, and a warranty.

So unless I am a pro crawl space vapor barrier installer I can't do this? Hmm, I smell a salesman.

Hello,
I can appreciate your interest and concern, however all of our Dealers attend countless hours of training each year to become certified, as do pest control operators, electricians, and plumbers. As I stated before it is not a do it yourself job.
Thank you.
