I have two walls in my basement that when it rains medium to heavy they seep water at the base of the wall where it meets the floor. I am also getting mold/mildew in this same area.
I have no sump pump pit and wish to install one. The problem is that I hear you should always install the pit where the lowest portion of the floor is.But in my basement the lowest area is not at all where I am getting water and that wall is bone dry. Is there a problem with installing it in the corder which is higher but is where i am getting water?
My lowest spot is at my north wall in the middle and not in a corner. Do pumps and pits always need to be placed in corners?

Hi,
Although we recommend that you place the sump pump in the low spot of a basement -- this can be very important in the case of an interior plumbing leak -- you dont have to install the sump pump in the low spot or the corner, it can be put almost anywhere in the basement as long as the system is designed properly. Where are you located? I can give you the information of a Basement Systems dealer in your area for a free inspection. I am confident they can design a system that will address all your needs.
