2 Year old addition in Northwest Montana: I have a dirt floor crawl space (12' x32' with an access thru my full basement. I have vented the space thru the rim joist but I am going to seal the vents up unless I really want fresh air in there ...wich should be never.

Under the VB...
I have a 6mil VB covering the dirt floor . I attempted to level with rake but is to rocky and hard to do effectivly. I have removed all organic material from the floor uder the VB. My problem is that I get condensation under the vb which alows FUNGUS (where talking mushrooms) to grow under the VB.Smell a little musty but not to bad. I really regret not putting down some pea gravel to level out and stop capillary action.

What material can I haul in there to level the floor and clean it up? Pea gravel after the fact?
Or do I not need to ?

thanks -Rob

robm,

We use a 20-mil liner called CleanSpace (http://www.basementsystems.com/crawlspace/crawlspace_products/crawlspace_vapor_barrier.php) that has an anti-microbial agent manufactured in to help kill bacteria and mold.

We do have a couple dealers that might be in your area, one is in Bozeman Montana and the other is in Rathdrum Idaho and may go into Montana to do business. They may be able to help you. Call 800-638-7048 and we'll get you in touch with them.
