We have just excavated (into a slope) for a new construction basement - and have encountered what appears to be a perched water zone at proposed 10' bgs footing depth. Soils are silty sands (SM). Footings are just being formed/poured. Water is tricking from the slope-side along 2 sides of the foundation. We are in the process of designing/installing an interior and exterior drainage tile system (outlet can exit via daylight on downslope) and would be very interested in any recommendations/pointers/lessons learned.
