So guys .
I have recently bought a house built inthe 40s.
It has a couple of full foundation additions on it .
One of them didnt have any access .
So during a current bathroom remodel I neeeded some HVAC changes done so I cut open an access to the adition through the original foundation.
The real question know.
Their is a humidity issue in the basement but I couldt find the source.
Well I found it.
This side ia all sand , about 20 feet back their is a 4" by 10 " section of standing water. The back fill is missing here , a step down almost.
So does this deserve a pump out and backfill with stone and see if water comes back.
Or does this deserve a sump by default.
Have never needed a sump before so any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks
