Last year I had a Sump/Clean space and sani dry dehumidifier installed on a home that had a dirt crawl space. So far the results have been good but I still get a little of that mold smell. I think it is the results of years of problems with the moisture. I'm now in the process of reinsulating and putting in new carpets.

1. Do I need a vapor barrier on top of the floor before the carpets go down? or below the floor between the joyce?

2. What would be the best insulation for the in between the floor joyce?

thanks

K,

Now that you have the CleanSpace (http://www.basementsystems.com/crawlspace/crawlspace_products/crawlspace_vapor_barrier.php) system and a SaniDry (http://www.basementsystems.com/dehumidifier/) dehumidifier installed there is no need for a vapor barrier upstairs. As for insulation, you can use anything now that you have the CleanSpace and SaniDry, but we would recommend a high-density styrofoam as a better choice.
