SuperSump General Question

Hi,

Can anyone brief me on how the waterwatch alarm (http://www.basementsystems.com/basement_waterproofing/waterproofing_products/sump_pump/water_watch_alarm.php) system works? I have the Super sump (http://www.basementsystems.com/basement_waterproofing/waterproofing_products/sump_pump/super_sump_pump.php) installed and have not had an issue well while having power
at least. The supersump (http://www.basementsystems.com/basement_waterproofing/waterproofing_products/sump_pump/super_sump_pump.php) was installed with what looks like a seperate red 'T' shaped piece that sits unattached on top of the unit. Does this require a battery (http://www.basementsystems.com/basement_waterproofing/waterproofing_products/sump_pump/battery_backup_sump_pump.php)? Does it need to be attached somehow to the top of the supersump (http://www.basementsystems.com/basement_waterproofing/waterproofing_products/sump_pump/super_sump_pump.php)?

Any Assistance would be greatly appreciated!

The WaterWatch alarm sounds off like a smoke detector if water rises above the point where the pump should turn on. This gives you warning to address the problem before any damage occurs. Visit this WaterWatch Alarm (http://www.basementsystems.com/basement_waterproofing/waterproofing_products/sump_pump/water_watch_alarm.php) page and you'll see that there is a hole in the top of the sump pump cover that the stem of the alarm should sit in (in the photo it has been pulled out to show the stem). The tip of the stem is water sensitive. The battery is inside the top disk part.

If you haven't had a service call on your system, I recommend that you contact the dealer who installed your system and they will make sure that everything is running fine and ready. Thanks so much. We really have benefitted from your product and would highly recommend the installer in our area. I will follow up with him for the service call and the alarm. We dont have the battery back-up yet, it is a
bit on the expensive side, but may be worth it in the long run.

Hi Cecil;

On my pump, (Its red with a circular top)I believe that is an alarm that sits on top of the
pump, and is battery operated. Its just like a fire alarm. It has a
6-7 inch stick that is on its bottom, If water rises above the normal
pump turn on widget, and hits this rod, that turns on the alarm.

Works great. When I had mine put in, all was set and ready and I just laid back to watch Sunday football. Well, one of my family took the pump plug out to
do the wash, so it was off (I did not have it hardwired as yet) But the alarm
went off when the water hit the red widget.
