View Full Version : sump pump back flow

Just purchased a home for the first time. I have a sump pump that seems to be running every few minutes with rain. The water is running back into the sump crock. I believe the check valve is either missing, plugged or bad. Where is the check valve located? and what can i do to remedy this?

Congratulations on your new home!
As for the check valve, it's location depends on the pump model and installation. To remedy this you could have a Basement Systems dealer take a look at it and it may be a quick fix. They could also show you other options that Basment Systems has for sump pumps (http://www.basementsystems.com/sump_pump/). Fill out the online contact form (http://www.basementsystems.com/forms/contact.php?utm_source=Forum%2BLink&utm_medium=Forum%2BLink&utm_campaign=Forum-Link-Contact-Page) or call us at 800-638-7048 and we can get you in touch with your local dealer.
