With a Dry Trak system, isn't there still a problem with mold behind the track over time?

djp555,

Mold (http://www.basementsystems.com/learning_center/mold/) needs an organic substance to feed upon. Neither the concrete of your basement wall and floor or the DryTrak (http://www.basementsystems.com/basement_waterproofing/waterproofing_products/basement_waterproofing_system/drytrak.php) system are organic, and thus mold will not grow on them.

That being said, there could be some amount of debris behind the DryTrak that could support mold growth. But there's also lots of organic stuff in your basement that could support mold growth, including the building materials of the house itself -- and mold doesn't need water to grow (actually most or all molds won't grow under water), but rather it needs moisture from the air. We've never experienced a mold problem behind DryTrak as far as I've ever heard and we've been installing DryTrak for nearly 20 years.

If mold is a concern, or you are experiencing problems with mold in your home, see our Learning Center of Dehumidification and Preventing Mold Growth (http://www.basementsystems.com/learning_center/dehumidification/index.php) and read about our SaniDry (http://www.basementsystems.com/dehumidifier/) Basement Air System.
