Hi Well here is the deal I own a home that has a basement and a crawl space.
The Crawl space is not like any other I have ever seen.
It is filled with pea gravel and no dirt or sand I also have a 4.5 ft wall that separates the crawl from the basement.
Now the concrete walls look and feel like they go all the way down to the ground just like the basement walls, I am able to push a round aluminum rod that is 4.5 ft long and about 3/8 in dia, into the gravel all the way down till it stops real easy.
So is it possable to remove all of the pea gravel and just pour in a floor and have a full basement ?
Last - I have called some of the people here in my area that do this kind of work and they tell me it would be 125.00 a sq ft to finish the house and they haven't even looked at my house and they would need to raise the house ????? and digg it out
Could this be right?
I think the house was made with a full basement but they didn't finish it.
would there be a reason why this might be?
any help would be great thanks
