View Full Version : Framing
I have recently waterproofed my basement, which includes the ThermalDry basement floor tiles. I am now ready to begin framing and drywalling. Is there a recommended way (including products) to secure the wood frame to the floor without having to use cement nails?

If installing a wall on top of Thermal Dry Floor Matting. The Thermal Dry Floor Matting should be secured along the perimeter upon installation. This makes it part of the floor so installing a wall on top would be the same method as installing a wall on top of a plywood subfloor. The idea of securing the walls is so it doesn't move if it is hit. 2" nails or screws should be sufficient.
If installing a wall prior to the installation of Thermal Dry Floor Matting with a WaterGuard system along the perimeter we recommend using construction adhesive. Partition walls maybe nailed the conventional way or construction adhesive.
