I have a new house with 60 per cent hardwood floors. After purchasing the house I found out there was a flooding problem in the crawl space. Since then a sump pump has been installed but the flooring is cupping and cracking.
I've beem told humidity levels are too high in the crawl space but I also believe the flooring was not properly installed. I received two estimates for the encapsulation system but I am confused. One dealer included the smart pump but the other dealer included the super pump. Is there a difference and if so, what is it besides the fact that one is recommended for basements and the other for crawl spaces? If I decide to proceed with this expensive system hoping it will solve the problem I want the equipment that is best for my situation.
