I had a Super Sump installed in Feb., and now with melting snow & rain, it got it's first work out. I was relieved because typically this time of year, I would be prone to seepage.

However, when I went outside to direct the hose in another direction, I noticed and ALL OVER the area where the pump discharges. So I went into the basement, opened the sump, and noticed sand on the bottom of the basin, and when it discharged, it sucked the sand & water outside. So, I decided to see it it was just a one time thing, so I sucked the sand out with my wet vac, and right after more sand cam oozing in form the holes in the side.

Now, when they were installing, they removed sand from under my basement floor because that is what I have there. So my concern is that they did not put filter fabric or some kind of protection around the outside of the basin.

When I called they acted as if they knew nothing about this problem, but I find that hard to believe.

Also, when I called about the check valve, they said it was in the sump so in case it leaks it will leak there. However when I was in there looking for sand, I did not see a check valve, even though on the web site they brag about how it saves wear & tear on the pump. My question would be: is that a normal part of installs, or did I have to ask for it?

Thanks in advance.
