Sump Pit Water Draining where??

Hello,

I'm confused about this one. I tried testing my sump pump to make sure it was working. I put water in the sump pit and the water level would rise a bit and then drop (the sump pump does not go on). Where is this water draining to? I noticed that there are slats inside the sump pit walls. Should I be concerned as to where this water is going?

Hi John,

From the explanation, it seems that the water is just leaching out into the earth. This is normal.

"Slats inside the sump pit walls" doesn't sound like a Basement Systems sump pump system (http://www.basementsystems.com/sump_pump)... have you seen our systems? They are clean, airtight, professional looking, and easy to replace into existing sump pits.
