I bought one of these systems. I'm selling my house this tuesday and the termite company says they are listing my crawl space as inaccessible because they can't see the base of the brick curtain wall and the base of my piers on the floor of my crawl space.
The salesman told me it wouldn't be a problem.
Please help.

We are looking into buying one of these systems. It has to be better than what we have now. I'm having condensation problems and ground water problems. I was going to take care of this myself but decided that I wanted the best repair I could get. I hope this does it. How is yours?

Hi,
There are many pest control companies throughout the country that are involved installing the CleanSpace system. This is the best way to correct moisture problems in a crawl space. We have over 100 certified dealers in the united States alone. I am sorry that you incountered a pest control company that does not like the system. This is now considered the best practice in the building science community.

In some of your literature and marketing CD's you state that approximately 40 percent of the air in a crawl space home comes from the crawl space. Specifically where does this information come from? I have had a builder ask me this and I have not been able to find the information source.

I am not familiar with the laws in Georgia but in the state of South Carolina, when a termite letter or more correctly, wood infestation report, is conducted there must be a disclosure of inacessible areas. Hence there is no existing building that does not have inacessbile areas. The report is based on what is VISIBLE at the time of inspection. This should not, however, have a bearing on weather the home sells or not. The only thing I can think of is if the pest control company for some reason has made a negative comment regarding the CleanSpace system to other parties involved in the sale of the home.
I might add the number of pest control companies that see the value of CleanSpace are increasing. How do I know? Almost twenty years as a licensed pest control operator in South Carolina and now working for an exterminating companies "sister" CleanSpace dealership at Myrtle Beach. Great to have a moisture control method that actually WORKS!!

www.crawlspaces.org (Advanced Energy) actually has a graph in one of their reports that shows infiltration levels anywhere from 40 - 60%. This is actual field data from their test project on Habitat for Humanity homes in Eastern NC.

How surprising! Any pest control company would be crazy not to endorse the CleanSpace system! I even have several that are my "eyes and ears" and get a commission for sales from leads. I put together a chart and graph showing how much more work a pest control conpany can get out of their workers in a billable hour, by working in crawls with CleanSpace. Prooof is right there! As far as their comment about not being able to see the inner bottom area of the foundation wall--- they should be able to visbly see the sill plate area and since CleanSpace is held down 3" to 4" or so from the plate, if there were any problems with termites, there would be "trails" leading up the foundation wall indicating issues. Also-- they can bore from the exterior into that area and so on.
One thing they need to remember is that with the CleanSpace, you have eliminated food and water so the termites will go some where else..... without those two items, they will have no interest in your crawl.
