This warm, dry air will help to dry out the area, causing the wood to dry out, the wood and carpet on your first floor dry out from underneath, and the area to be healthier. In some cases, as the buckling hardwood dries and becomes less swollen, windows and doors upstairs that had been jammed will become easier to use.
