Protect Your Home from Mold and Structural Damage that High Relative Humidity Levels Bring

Humidity season is upon us - this year own an air system we guarantee to effectively dry your basement or crawl space!

Mold and Mildew
We all know that high relative humidity in a home is the cause for mold, mildew, and musty smells. To alleviate this problem, you need to lower the relative humidity (RH) in your home. Doing this in an energy-efficient manner is also very important - we could always run 3 or 4 dehumidifiers in our basement or crawl space and that may do the job - albeit expensively.

Structural Damage Caused By High RH
Especially down in crawl spaces, we see lots of structural damage caused to homes due to high RH and the presence of moisture. This can be avoided, and should, as not only is it unsafe, but is extremely costly to fix.

Home Allergens
The number one cause of allergies in the home is from the fecal matter of dust mites - this tiny irritant, like dust, simply moves around the home in the air. How do we prevent this? We know that dust mites do not drink water to survive, but rather absorb it from the air. We also know that lowering the RH, typically below 50%, will kill dust mites, and thus eliminate their fecal matter.

How Can You Accomplish Lowering RH?
With a dehumidifier a powerful, yet energy- efficient dehumidifier. The SaniDry Air System, a dehumidification and air filtration unit, is the right machine. Simply set the RH level you want on the SaniDry's dial (typically just below 50%) and your entire home and building materials will dry out, mold won't grow and dust mites will cease to exist.
