Yesterdays heavy rains caused serious flooding in my basement. This only happened once before, about 3 years ago, after having lived in our house for 49 years without serious water issues. It has always happened that a very small water seepage would occur between the basement walls and the concrete pad during exceptional rain events or snow melt. Part of our of our basement is finished and part is not. In the unfinished part, water has suddenly found a couple of ways to enter the unfinished area in large quantities which then spills into the finished area. Yesterday the finished area had about 1/2 inch of water across the entire floor. It will require that we replace the flooring, already damaged by the previous flood. The flooring is a composite Pergo like floor with a plastic barrier separating it from the concrete basement floor. We would like to know what you might do to fix this problem and the costs involved. Thank you.

Our basement floor had leaked and flooded and we had to rip up the carpeting. We haven't had another leak since then as we did some work outside to redirect the gutters away from the house, but we want to make sure the problem is solved before we put down new flooring again.
