Comment: I want to make sure our basement is good to finish with sheetrock and lvp flooring. There was a small puddle next to the back door after a heavy rain but also I notice a rotten smell in the house when it rains and then heats up. I think it is coming from the basement because our hvac is down there.

Comment: The back wall of my garage is buried about 3 to 4 feet underground. I get water leaking thru the floor wall joint in one corner every time it rains. An existing french drain works a little but not near enough. Considering having back garage wall and foundation sealed with an improved french drain.
