The SmartJack has an adjustable screw that is used to raise the floor into place.
This open vented crawl space brought in wet air. This wet air ruined the fiberglass and made it very heavy, causing it to fall from the ceiling.
From this photo, you can see two of the eight SmartJacks we installed underneath the new main beam. These steel posts rest on an engineer filled base so that they won't settle in the future. They are also extremely sturdy, and are made of galvanized steel to prevent rusting. After jacking them up, we were able to level out the floors above.
This crawl space was giving the homeowner fits from its mustiness emitting into the rest of the home.
