We bought our house in October and it has cinder block foundation walls on top of a slab. During an especially heavy rain storm last week, I went into the basement to find that there were several places in the wall where water was freely flowing into the basement. I was able to get it under control with a shop-vac, but water has continued to slowly seep through these holes for the past week and we want to see what our options are for resolving the issue.

When we get very heavy, consistent rain, I get some water that leaks in from the perimeter of my basement. I've lived in my home now for three years and it has happened at least twice every year since I've lived here. My basement does not fully flood and most times, the entire basement floor is not covered. The water shows up in random spots or puddles generally along the perimeter, but also in the center of my basement floor.
