This homeowner in Simsbury, CT called us hoping that we could insulate his detached garage. The garage was not insulated, which is common for detached garages -- however, he wanted a temperature controlled garage. This was causing a lot of energy loss. They wanted to be able to lower their energy bills and wanted help as soon as possible.
The best way to insulate garage walls is to use insulation board. We installed our Foamax polyisocyanurate (Polyiso) foam insulation boards. They install right over the existing walls. As a bonus, they are also flame retardant, so it can be exposed, unlike other types of foam. This insulation board makes a noticeable difference in a space -- the space feels warmer and more comfortable!
This homeowner in Simsbury, CT called us hoping that we would be able to help him with his home. He needed mold removal as well as ventilation added to his attic. He was inspired to reach out to us after having his home evaluated for solar panels. They recommended work that he needed done beforehand, and so he had a checklist from that alongside his research that was ready to go. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he went through the homeowner's issues with home comfort in addition to those initial needs. He stated that he had high energy bills as well as very bad drafts and high humidity in his home -- especially in his basement. He did not have insulation in his basement, which was part of his issue.
We had the perfect solution for this customer! We utilized two-part expanding spray foam. We insulated the rim joist (the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the home). We spray this foam in the rim joist and over the sill plate. Insulating the rim joist in this way seals all air leaks -- filling in the cracks and gaps that are present there. This prevents outside air from getting into the home. The homeowner is now very happy, and he is much more comfortable in his home!
This homeowner in Simsbury, CT initially called us hoping that we could help him with his home. He had a mold problem and had no ventilation in his attic. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he sat down with the homeowner to go over their comfort issues. The homeowner stated that he wanted to replace his bulkhead door, in part due to issues they were having in their basement.
We were able to help this customer. We installed a beautiful new bulkhead door. This bulkhead door needed to be custom-ordered due to the size of the opening from the original door. Upon installing, we caulked around the edges and installed flashing behind the door to ensure a tight fit. Now, this homeowner has a new, beautiful bulkhead door that will look nice for years to come!

This homeowner in Simsbury, CT reached out to us because she believed she did not have insulation in her home. She wanted to improve temperature control and take some stress off of her mini split air conditioners.
We were able to help this customer! We were able to replace the attic insulation with TruSoft™ cellulose insulation. We started by removing the batt insulation, putting it in large bags. We then went in and air-sealed around all of the points where air leaks up from the home to the attic. We did this using our Zypfoam™ spray foam. Once the atitc is air sealed, we used a long hose to blow in TruSoft™ cellulose insulation. TruSoft™ is amazing -- it does not burn, get moldy, or attract pests. The blown-in insulation fills all gaps and oddly shaped voids. The homeowner is now much more comfortable in her home!
