This homeowner in Hebron, CT called us hoping to talk about removing his attic insulation and replacing it. He had an insect issue and wanted to prevent it from reoccurring. He also had an issue with his attic being very humid. His home was additionally very energy inefficient, and he had high energy bills.
We were able to help this customer! We were able to replace the attic insulation with TruSoft™ cellulose insulation. We started by removing the batt insulation, putting it in large bags. We then went in and air-sealed around all of the points where air leaks up from the home to the attic. We did this using our Zypfoam™ spray foam. Once the atitc is air sealed, we used a long hose to blow in TruSoft™ cellulose insulation. TruSoft™ is amazing -- it does not burn, get moldy, or attract pests. The blown-in insulation fills all gaps and oddly shaped voids. The homeowner is now much more comfortable in his home!

We went to work, immediately removing the fiberglass attic insulation that was there. We then sealed all air leaks using our one-part Zypfoam, and installed baffles to keep some air flow from the outside to the attic. We then insulated with our TruSoft™ blown-in cellulose insulation. This insulation is fire resistant, mold resistant, and is not a comfortable home for pests.
This homeowner now has a more comfortable and safe home for herself and her family as a result of our work!
This homeowner in Andover, CT called us hoping that we would be able to help her with her home. We had previously insulated her attic, and she had seen notable improvements. However, she still wanted to make sure that her basement was insulated.
We had the perfect solution for this customer! We utilized two-part expanding spray foam. We insulated the rim joist (the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the home). We spray this foam in the rim joist and over the sill plate. Insulating the rim joist in this way seals all air leaks -- filling in the cracks and gaps that are present there. This prevents outside air from getting into the home. The homeowner is now very happy, and she is much more comfortable in her home!
These homeowners in Tolland, CT, asked us out to their home to see if we could help them with a problem they were having . The problem was that they were having severe ice dams and the temperature in the rooms on the upper level were inconsistent all year round. We got to the home and sat down with the customer to go over their concerns once more before conducting out Full Home Energy Evaluation. After a long search, we found out that their attic was full of old, nasty fiberglass insulation. Since fiberglass is so fluffy, it easily allows air to travel through it and is not a proper thermal barrier. Now we know what we need to do.
We conduct the unpleasant task of removing the damaged, soiled insulation from the attic. We use a long fat vacuum hose and such all of that insulation out of the attic. We also remove all of the left over particles and dust. Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solution, this attic is ready for some new, fresh insulation!
