Niles Goodman from Nova Basement Systems

Niles joined our team in 2014.  Niles started as an Installation Technician working to repair homes.  Bringing in his knowledge from Construction Management while attending Purdue North Central, Niles caught on quickly to the work and services we provide.  Using his outstanding skill set, Niles is now an Estimator at NOVA.  He takes great pride in helping to diagnose and solve people's home problems.  Niles enjoys being challenged and enjoys that every day brings a new adventure! 

When Niles isn't helping people, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Julie, their children, and all of their animals.  Overall, Niles likes to enjoy the outdoors.

Our system traps and channels water into a sump pump.
Encapsulation
CleanSpace Encapsulation
We removed all debris from the crawlspace including the old PVC piping and concrete chunks. We then went through the entire crawlspace and sprayed Moldex on all the floor joists and the subflooring. Then we installed Drainage Matting over sharp slag stones, to help prevent ripping. Next, we installed CleanSpace on the walls and floors to encapsulate, and installed an Aprilaire dehumidifier that drains into an existing sump pit.
This East Chicago basement needed a perimeter of WaterGuard to control the water entering from the cove joint. We also small hairline cracks we found in the floor with an epoxy.
These poured foundation walls had cracking and seepage throughout the entire basement. This business added a flashing to channel that water into our DryTrak system. This was an economic solution that would brighten the space as well as solve their water seepage issues.
In order to collect water in the crawlspace we installed a drain tile system with a better stone, and tied that into a SuperSump pump.
As noted on our agreement, we installed 150 feet of Waterguard interior drainage system around the perimeter of the basement. The purpose of the Waterguard system is to relieve the hydrostatic pressure at the floor and wall joints, coming from water pressure trying to make its way through the foundation wall. It also will relieve the pressure from beneath the slab. The WaterGuard will act as the conduit for water travel underneath the basement floor freely to the sump pump to keep the basement dry.
