We removed all debris from the crawlspace including the old PVC piping and concrete chunks. We then went through the entire crawlspace and sprayed Moldex on all the floor joists and the subflooring. Then we installed Drainage Matting over sharp slag stones, to help prevent ripping. Next, we installed CleanSpace on the walls and floors to encapsulate, and installed an Aprilaire dehumidifier that drains into an existing sump pit.
In order to control water from the perimeter of the basement, we installed a DryTrak baseboard system and epoxied it to the concrete floor. The system was installed around the full basement perimeter and set to discharge into the SuperSump.
Our BrightWall walling solution will flash any water that comes in above our system, directly to our WaterGuard
To help mitigate water in this dirt crawlspace and redirect that water to a discharge system, we dug trenches and placed Drain Tile in them. This will direct groundwater to a sump pump, to be ejected from the space. To help manage moisture and humidity, we installed a CleanSpace Encapsulation System over the exterior walls, across the floor, and around the existing pilasters.
Wall Anchor Stabilization have been used successfully to stabilize and straighten foundation walls since the late 1970s.
To help stabilize the bowing foundation walls, we drove 19 galvanized steel rods through the foundation out to anchor plates that we placed in the ground. We fill those anchor plate holes full of concrete to reinforce the strength of the anchor. To tackle the seepage concerns, we installed 124 feet of WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. This system would drain into a SuperSump pump, and it would then be ejected from the home through a discharge.
A layer Drainage Matting was applied to the floor as a flashing to direct water into our Drain Tile, then to an Ultra Sump pump. The next phase of this project would be CleanSpace Encapsulation to act as a vapor barrier.
Due to the large volume of water and length of the system, we installed a new SuperSump in front of the property and ran new plumbing. In addition, we installed a new Zoeller M-98 Sump Pump in the existing large basin to help with the large capacity of water. We also ran a new 4 inch PVC lateral drain between the existing large sump pump basin and the replacement SuperSump to help alleviate more water pressure under the floor, and to help tie the sump basins together as a back up to each other.
