Search Request: basement floor system
Comment: Basement is pretty much gutted up to 4tt from old concrete/rubble floor. Ceiling height ranges from 68" to 72" and ceiling should be no less than 7ft for code. Need to discuss flooring options. Originally wanted polished concrete, but the ceiling height is a problem for my contractor. And if concrete is too expensive, I need a waterproof option. Thanks!!!

Comment: Finished basement. Have one location under a window where water came in during last week's major storm. Previously repaired crack by crack-x is fine and not re-cracked. Insulation dry. Yet water soaked into carpet at that location (which had happened before during last year's major storm, and we fixed the crack thinking it was the leak source). Hose test running water for 45 minutes resulted in no water entering. Yet is is somehow. Sump pump tested and is fine. Need to address issue before fixing wall and carpet again.

Project Location: Brattle Street, Arlington, 02474
Comment: We would like to refinish an area of basement. There is a water issue, but we think can be resolved with some drainage and a sump pump. We also like to move our washer/dryer/ utility sink, replace 2 windows (make one larger if possible) and add 1/2 bath. This wil all need to fit within our budget, so it may not be feasible to do everything. Hoping to have the project completed this summer. The are is 188 sq ft and ceilings are 8'1".

Comment: I have a crack in the basement wall and soft concrete/small hole toward bottom near floor. The outdoor faucet broke and water was running unnoticed for a couple of days (under snow). The water seeped into basement until water was shut off.

Comment: I'm interested in a sump pump, basin, and a drainage system that won't freeze. Before digging up my entire basement for drainage pipes, I'd like to see if the sump pump alone is effective.
